October 26th 2016: The launch of the fifth year of the University of Birmingham mentoring scheme – Get Out Stay Out: how to thrive in work. The scheme continues to develop year on year: 3 students in 2012, 26 this year. Students and mentors from a wide range of occupations in Birmingham met for some ‘speed mentoring’ sessions and then students expressed their preferences fro their mentors. They’ll be meeting roughly four times over the next six months to talk about: coming out at work; is LGBT relevant to applications and interviews and all sorts of other topics that students will find helpful.
