Providing and Inclusive Careers Advisory Service for LGBT students and graduates – article – September 2018

Are university careers services providing the best service for LGBT students who, as graduates, interns or postgraduates, face a different set of challenges?  Well, some are , some are not. Best practice includes dedicated pages of advice, LGBT employer events, and mentoring schemes, useful links and mention of careers advisors who are actually LGBT themselves! Worst practice includes no mention at all that LGBT people exist, or even have LGBT under the heading: ‘students facing barriers’.
